Ay. Khomeini celebrations June 4-5

Daftar Isi [Tutup]
If all goes well, I should be somewhere in Iran on the 4th and 5th of June. I have found that these two days are celebrated in the honour of ayatollah Khomeini. According to LP:

Heart-Rending Departure of the Great Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran (4 June; 14 Khorsad): Commemorates the death of Ayatollah Khomeini in 1989. About 500.000 Iranians flock to Tehran, Qom (where he trained and lived) and the village of Khomein (where he was born). It's worth avoiding Tehran at this time.
Anniversary of the Arrest of Ayatollah Khomeini (5 June; 15 Khorsad): In 1963, Khomeini was arrested after urging the Muslims of the world to rise up against the superpowers.

What exactly can I expect on these two national holidays? Military parades? Religious pelgrimage? Fireworks? ... And what are the best places to witness (or partake in) the celebrations if Qom or Tehran are no option?
